The Story

Cara Guglielmino was always a little different then most growing up in a small conventional suburb of Connecticut.  She practically lived in her Belle dress from Beauty and the Beast, twirling and playing pretend with her imaginary friend the “Prince”.  Just to paint the picture a little clearer, in Preschool when asked to create a town, while other children added a hospital or a school - she was the one to ensure there was a theater.

Cara began her formal dance training (meaning after the age of 7, because pre-ballet and jumping over tissue boxes and drums unfortunately doesn't count). at the New Have Ballet, while her summers were spent on scholarship at various dance intensives across the country -including Alvin Ailey, The Boston Ballet, and at Pittsburgh Ballet Theater. After graduation, Cara moved to New York City to attend New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts.  During her years at Tisch, she had the privilege to perform original works by Deborah Jowitt, Renee Redding-Jones, Gus Solomons Jr., Sidra Bell and the legendary Lucinda Childs.  Cara graduated cum laude with a BFA, but she felt something was missing.  Cara began to broaden her focus to acting and Musical Theater.

While studying at various institutions in the city, she lucked out with a small role on the FX show Louie.  In 2014, Cara Landed a four year stint on HBO’s Girls, as Lena Dunham’s Stand In.  In 2017 as Girls shot their sixth and final season, Cara had the privilege to act with her onscreen counterpart.  Later that year, she booked a small role in Hulu’s limited series The Looming Tower alongside Jeff Daniels with direction by Michael Slovis.  In August of 2017, she took the scary leap and moved to Los Angeles to pursue all things acting.

Cara is represented with KOR Talent and Step Forward Entertainment.
